Empowering Communities and Enriching Lives

At Altrium, we're more than a technology company; we are passionate advocates for transformative change within our communities. Our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are a testament to our commitment to not just lead in innovation but also in empowering future generations and supporting sustainable practices.

Strengthening Lifesaving Care: Supporting the Pediatric Liver Transplant Unit

On September 14th, Altrium's People & Culture team visited the Liver Transplant Unit at Ragama Hospital to make a significant contribution, donating two laptops to support the unit's operational efficiency. These laptops will assist hospital staff in managing patient records, coordinating surgeries, and improving day-to-day operations. This visit is part of an ongoing relationship with the hospital. In 2023, our Altrium team collectively raised 1 million LKR, which funded advanced medical equipment for the newly established Pediatric Liver Transplant High Dependency Unit (HDU) at Ward 23. As the only facility in Sri Lanka where pediatric liver transplants are performed, this unit plays a critical role in providing life-saving care to children across the country. Through these contributions, Altrium continues to support the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure in Sri Lanka. We are proud of our team's ongoing dedication to improving healthcare outcomes and making a tangible difference in the lives of patients and medical professionals alike.

Donation to Ragama Hospital

Liver failure is a deadly disease which affects adults as well as children. Liver transplant (LT) is the only cure when the liver fails. Liver transplantation service for children is only available at CNTH, Ragama at present and the program serves the children referred from the entire country. Hence, Ragama Hospital has constructed a liver transplant HDU cubicle for children at ward 23, CNTH.

When we heard the word from Dr. Meranthi Fernando about the Ragama Hospital needing assistance with getting liver transplant HDU equipped, our fellow altriumers got together and raised funds to help them purchase state-of-the-art equipment. We were able to raise funds worth of 1 million LKR in order to support purchasing medical equipment to newly built pediatric liver transplant HDU at ward 23 in Ragama Hospital.

Donation to National Hospital of Sri Lanka

As a country, Sri Lanka was going through one of the most difficult times in its history. As a company that is deeply rooted in Sri Lanka, we felt the need to contribute in ways that we can to make a difference.

When we saw the tweet by Munza Mushtaq about the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) needing assistance to repair medical devices in the Surgical ICU, we had to act. Our fellow Altriumers and their friends got together and raised funds, and every rupee donated was matched by the company to raise a total of LKR 575,000/= in a week
